How we work, in five principles.
The frameworks and commitments that shape every engagement. Negotiable on none.
Compliance work rewards discipline. The strongest engagements start with a clear scope, transparent expectations, and a methodology built around the requirements clients actually need to meet. Our approach is grounded in five commitments that make the work practical for clients and accountable for us.
Principle I : Fixed scope, fixed fee.
Every engagement is priced and scoped in writing before it begins. Deliverables, timelines, and costs are clearly defined. We do not bill hourly during the engagement or add unexpected discovery charges along the way.
If we underestimate the work, we absorb the cost. For clients, that means a defined endpoint, clear deliverables, and a known investment before the engagement begins.
Principle II : Focused expertise.
We consult on CMMC and NIST 800-171. We do not consult outside this domain. We do not sell software, run managed security operations, build websites, or take referral fees from cloud providers. NIST SP 800-171 compliance, CMMC readiness, and related DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Principle III : Clear separation when independence matters.
We are deliberate about maintaining appropriate independence between readiness and remediation work and any future formal certification assessment services. Where prior work could create a conflict, we identify that before an engagement begins so you understand your options.
Principle IV : Published methodology.
The frameworks, checklists, decision criteria, and assessment objectives we use are documented and shared with clients throughout the engagement. There is no proprietary black box. Our methodology is grounded in applicable DoD guidance, NIST SP 800-171 requirements, and CMMC assessment objectives.
The value we add is in how those requirements are interpreted, applied, and translated into practical action.
Principle V : Honest scoping.
The most useful consultant is willing to say when an engagement is not necessary. If your requirements don’t call for the services we provide, we’ll tell you. If a free resource is the better answer, we’ll point you to it. And if INDUS Secure is not the right fit, we’ll say that too.
These principles come from the assessors who taught us, the engineers who keep us grounded, and the contractors who expect us to be specific.

Know your posture. Close the gaps. Be ready. Let’s get to work.
A 30-minute scoping call with a senior consultant. No pitch. We listen, scope honestly, and tell you what we’d do — including whether we are the right fit.
